Furry things

Hola Amigos,

I have told you before that I am currently living with my two ladybosses Sacha and Mireille. But there is more: Sam and Meisje, two Burmese cats.
The first couple of months they were not happy that something big, black and beautiful ;-) entered their peaceful life.
But I was determined to make it work even though Meisje was absolutely in shock to see me. But lately things are looking much better. Mireille caught Sam taking a nap in my basket and he even lets me lick his buttocks… sometimes! It is under protest but still…we are making progress.
And maybe, maybe next Christmas we, Sam, Meisje and yours truely might be sleeping in the same basket! That would be a dream come true!

Tulips in Rotterdam

Hola Amigos,

It is true what they say about Holland; they do have cheese and windmills. And lots, lots, lots of tulips!

Bye for now!

A sneak preview of my very first holiday after being in holland

Hi Folks,

I will write in the next couple of days (finally!) more on my blog. I’ve been on many great adventurous trips. So I have got a lot to tell you about. For now I keep it to this sneak preview of my very first holiday I had with Mireille & Sacha to Ameland. I can’t wait to go back. The nature was beautiful. We’ve been on many walks and we were very lucky with the weather:

I will be back soon!

Hola Amigos!

It’s been a while ago since my last post. I’ve been very busy with hanging around in my comfortable basket ;-)

Just kidding! As Sacha and Mireille take me everywhere!

This week I’ve had the opportunity to walk with Sien in the Kralingse Bos. We met in the parking lot. And we had an instant click. Sien is real fun! She is a hell of a piece of energy! A beautiful “Drentse patrijs“. And she is very fast too! So during this lunch walk the other day, we ran and Sien even swam some serious yards… The water was still freaking cold, but it couldn’t stop her at all. She saw this lovely fowl and without a doubt she went for it. Lucky fowl, as it appeared to swim faster then Sien did :-)

Wednesday I was lucky to go with Sacha to her work in Amsterdam. We had to take the tram first, followed by the train. At Schiphol we had to swap trains too. I seem to get the hang of it more, this traveling with public transportation. It’s really comfortable (1st class) and I really spread myself out on the floor. Although, I still don’t like to squeaking brakes of the train getting to a full stop, but Sacha is very patient with me and holds me very tight when a train arrives at the platform. I sometimes give her a big lick when she holds me protectively. I really appreciate this. I don’t mind getting into and out of the train anymore with a gap between the platform and the train. This is getting very easy :-)

On Thursday evening, Sacha and Mireille, took me to the vet’s. I had to get my last shot of cocktails. The vet also had a look at my ears and they seem to be a little mucky, but not yet infected. Unfortunately for me, the vet does want me to have ear drops twice a day.
I hate them :-( The wound from the dog that bit me is recovering well. You hardly see it anymore. My intestines are also going well. The vet had to touch my belly very firmly, as I have developed quite some muscles! My weight has also gone up a little: 1,5 kilo.

Mireille and Sacha have booked a weekend away for some time soon. To one of the Dutch islands. My first Dutch holiday. I can’t wait for it!

I promise to post more frequently.

Adios, Nina!

Obedience training

Yes my dear readers,

Sacha and Mireille have subjected me to obedience training.
Every Saturdaymorning they take me to the Lage Bergsche Bos and together with about 4 – 5 other dogs I get to do all sorts of stuff. The training has positive and negative side-effects. As it still is bloody cold and wet in this country and as I am subjected to a lot of waiting, I get wet and cold buttocks and me not liking that! But one of the perks is that I get lots of treats! Just look at the below pictures:

The goal of this training isn’t to get me to obey more but to get Mireille to understand me better ;-) That is kind of cool! And I’m proud to say that I am doing quite well; I usually sit and lay down when Mireille asks me to as longs as she shows me the goodies! The other dogs aren’t as smart, because they keep forgetting that food is involved! And Mireille knows that food and munchies are the best ways to my heart!!

My first video….

Hello there!

Sacha has installed a plugin, which allows me to link to published videos on YouTube. The below video is my first; rather big and a little amateurish, but it does give you a bit of an impression of me done with my morning siesta:

Adios, Nina.

I am …….

not a morning kind of a dog :-)
Sacha and Mireille always try to take me out very, very, very early in the morning, but I must tell you: I hate it!
Do you know why?
This basket I am lying in is sooooooooooo comfy and the Dutch weather is soooooooooo bad (wet and cold) that my siesta could last until 10.30 in the morning.
You can see why I like my basket so much :-)
